Robin Watson Yacht and Boat Builder
Laura and Mike Jones have commissioned the build of “Amok”, a 48 foot Samoa, a round bilged steel Van de Stadt design. The interior has been customised to suit the owners requirements. She has an en suit owner’s cabin forward of the saloon, galley and navigation station, and two double cabins aft with a single toilet and shower. The fit out is finished in Cherry veneered plywood and solid Cherry.
The style and character of the interior was initiated by Laura and Mike’s likes and dislikes, and interpreted by us to produce a modern look with soft radiused corners and some gentle curves.
The yacht has a lot of today’s creature comforts, like fridge and freezer, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and diesel cooker in the galley. Entertainment is supplied by a flat screen TV and DVD player. There is also a diesel heater blowing hot air into all the cabins when the weather is a bit chilly. A diesel generator has been fitted to take care of all these electrical requirements. There is pressurised water system supplying hot and cold water to both the showers and the galley.
Amok has a beautiful powerful onboard cutter rig with a typical Van de Stadt high aspect ratio, and a 72 Hp Yanmar to push her along in the calm weather.
